Al obtained a Bachelor’s of Human Kinetics from UBC and a Bachelor’s of Applied Health Science (athletic therapy) from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. Prior to opening the Morgan Crossing clinic, Al was the full-time Head Athletic Therapist for the Vancouver Whitecaps Residency Program and the assistant to the Whitecaps Men’s Team.
Al has also been the team athletic therapist for the Canadian Soccer Association and regularly traveled with teams to the US, Central America, and Europe. He also continues to increase his skills and knowledge by attending courses such as Current Trends in Running Injuries, Sports Medicine for Youth Athletes, Advances in clinical sport medicine, Dr. Stu McGill’s back rehab, Soft Tissue Release, Advanced Rehab of the Upper Extremity, and Sport First Responder. Al enjoys working in the community and was a member of the 2010 Paralympic Medical Team for Sledge Hockey and the 2009 World Police and Fire Games.
Al is a competitive runner and with a sub 2:45 marathon best time. He enjoys treating active individuals with a specialty in pelvic mal-alignment and lower body injuries. Al emphasizes that injury prevention and preventative rehabilitation is a key to athletes and active individuals. He is also the clinic founder, owner and operator.
